Introduction Of Sun Outage

Every year in the month of March and October we face a problem that our satellite signals are degraded or distorted. Even it shows no signal for some period of time. After sometime around 10 to 15 minutes again signal levels gets ok.

Why it happens? How it happens and How long it happens? Today in this article we will cover answers of all of these questions in brief.

What Is Sun Outage

Satellites are stationed over the Equator. So distance between satellites and earth is 36,000 Kms. Now as we all knows sun is full of energy. It emits the heated light of high intensity. Which generates the Noise. This noise is called the thermal noise.

So when the sun with its thermal noise, aligns with satellite and receiving antenna on earth results loss of signal due to interference is known as Sun Outage.
