What Is Watermark ?
Watermark is a image or text which is embedded into your content to protect your it from piracy. Where your content can be Image, Video, Audio and Texts or 3D Model too. As shown Above in the figure with Watermarking of Headend INFO Logo.
This watermark can be as much transparent you want. Here we are talking about digital watermarking only.
Watermarking is done at server side and it is monitored at receiver side to check the original owner of this content. Whether this delivered content is legal or not on this platform.
Embedding a watermark in your content will not affect your content. Because it is added at tolerable noise level.
For Example,
If you want to add a watermark into the photo. Then you photo will be divided into the pixels. Now suppose if you are going to do 50% watermarking on your image.
Then on the pixels of the photo where we need to embed our watermark , will be reduced by 50% of RGB information. Also 50% of RGB information of our watermark will be added on pixels of original content.

(1) Perceptible Watermarking

It is kind of watermarking which gives the protection to content from copying it to another location. It denies from copying.

Embedding Mode
In this mode the embedding algorithm is applied on the input content. Which embed the watermark on the content.
Which can be invisible or transparent which is up to you how you want to do it with your content. Now it gives the embedded output in the field for distribution.
Vulnerable Mode
In this field your content can be vulnerable. Where your watermark can be modified from unauthorized person. Where your watermaked can be cropped from image or video.
It can be done by adding some noise in your signal which degrade the content quality.
In the case of video content your watermarked video can be re-broadcasted in the field by unauthorized person.
Detection Mode
In this mode content owner tests the broadcasted video in the filed. Where a detection algorithm is applied in this mode.
This detection algorithm extract the watermark from content. Then we checks the brand value or data of extracted watermark. Which let us know the source of content with timeline.
This is very helpful for original content owners to detect the piracy of content.
Action Mode
If content is found the vulnerable or malicious. Then further actions are required to do by the original content provider. Which saves lot of money of content owner.
