Why Do Backup
Various kind of QAM available in the market, We recommend that a headend engineer needs to get backup of QAM before changing in configuration , after changing in the configuration and in every 10 days for safety point of view. Because if ever we have done any wrong configuration in QAM then we can restore it to previous configuration or parameters.
So in this article we will discuss about how to do Gospell QAM Configuration Backup , Restore and Reset. First you need to web access this qam using the credentials,
Username : admin
Password : 000000
Gospell QAM Configuration Backup
After logging into gospell qam as shown below in the figure you need to go to System Setting.
Then go to left hand side and select Advanced Setting as shown in figure below,
After opening Advance Setting the next window will open System Advance Setting as shown in figure below,
Now there are two options to get the backup of Gospell QAM GQ-3680. You can get the backup in .XML file by clicking on the button Export XML as indicated in the figure above by Arrow 1.
If you want to get the backup in .bin extension file then you need to click on the Export as indicated in the figure above by Arrow 2. If you will click on the Export button a new window will open as shown in the figure below,
Now you need to click Download button as indicated in the figure above. As given file name a .bin extension file of qam configuration will download into your computer.
Gospell QAM Configuration Import Or Restore
Now in future if you want to restore or import above downloaded .bin extension configuration file you need to select Browse option in Advance System Setting (Parameter Import / Export / Reset) as shown in the figure below,
Now a new Browse window will open to select you previously downloaded configuration file or called as parameter file. After selecting configuration file you need to click on Import button. Now again a new window will open as shown in the figure below,
Now system will check the status of file means its memory and its description. If everything will be OK then system will show Green Check Mark in Upload Status and File Validation. Then press the Submit button mentioned in bottom of menu. now a new window will open where you need to press YES as mentioned in the figure below,
After pressing the YES your device will start loading configuration that you selected. Now QAM will restart automatically. Do not do anything with qam while it is importing the configuration.
Gospell QAM Configuration Reset
Reset function is used to load the default configuration in the QAM. You need to go to System Setting > Advance setting then you will see the window mentioned below,
By pressing Reset button your QAM will load its default parameters.
